ESG

The CCIB’s strategy responds to the expectations of all its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, workers, institutions, the local community) and is based on the most significant indicators in terms of the environment, human resources and their relationship with our immediate surroundings. Hence, in addition to Biosphere certification and publishing an annual report since 2011, the CCIB has set clear objectives aligned with the United Nations SDGs.

EL CCIB

The CCIB’s ESG strategy responds to the growing ethical and responsible expectations of its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, workers, institutions, local community). The CCIB works to establish a fluid and permanent communication to ensure that priorities and concerns are known beyond environmental sustainability, to integrate it into the organisation and to be able to give an appropriate response at all times.

SDGs

With the aim of aligning its actions in terms of sustainability, the CCIB integrates into its strategy the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are laid down by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda for a sustainable development of the economy, society and the environment.

Of these 17 objectives, the CCIB has prioritised those in which it contributes directly through the industry to which it belongs and through its activity.

ANNUAL REPORT

The ESG report published by the CCIB annually since 2011, reports the most significant indicators in terms of environment, human resources, economy and the relationship with society.

To define these indicators, a materiality analysis is prepared based on the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards, which considers the aspects that are most relevant to the sector, competitors and different stakeholders of the CCIB.

BIOSPHERE CERTIFICATION

The Biosphere certification evidences the efforts for sustainable management and the promotion of responsible tourism.

In 2019, the CCIB obtained this distinction, ranking among the top 50 companies linked to the Barcelona Biosphere Tourism Sustainability Commitment, an initiative promoted by Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and Barcelona Tourism. This distinction recognises establishments in the tourism industry that work for responsible management with the environment, culture, working conditions, gender equality and social and economic return.

The Barcelona Biosphere Commitment is constituted in a manual of good practices that includes the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, through which the distinction is achieved.
