Main Building

Convention Centre

Designed by architect Josep Lluís Mateo, the main building of the CCIB was conceived to emphasize natural light. The façade blends easily into the skyline and was designed to have minimal impact on the surrounding area. With 46 open-plan rooms spread over three floors and two mezzanines, the CCIB is a versatile and multifunctional space. Highlights include the large Multipurpose Room, which can be divided into eight separate areas, and the Banquet Hall, with unique sea views.

Auditori Forum CCIB

The CCIB’s free-standing auditorium is an imposing blue triangle designed by Herzog & De Meuron, connected to the main building by an underground walkway just over 100 metres long. It seats 3,084 people and features a 420 m² stage. Its spacious interiors and pristine acoustics make it the ideal venue for all kinds of events and musical performances.

The Auditori Fòrum CCIB has a seating capacity of 3,084 people: 2,341 in the stalls (including 12 spaces for people with reduced mobility) and 743 in the balcony. It is ideal for musical performances, offering full visibility thanks to its column-free design. Connected to the CCIB by an underground walkway, the venue features a 420 m² stage, 10 dressing rooms, advanced technological equipment with surround sound, and five interpreting booths.

Level P0 includes the foyer, a large and versatile space with four entrances that is the main entrance to the CCIB. The 11,340 m² fully open-plan and column-free Multipurpose Room can be divided into eight areas of different sizes and has direct access from the loading bay via forklifts and platforms.

Level P1 features large meeting rooms. Foyer 1 includes five 420 m² rooms and two 878 m² rooms, all of which can be combined and have natural light. Foyer 2 houses sixteen 96 m² rooms that can be combined to make up eight double rooms. This floor also has three eco-friendly wooden terraces: one indoors and two outdoors.

Mezzanine M2 offers 11 small meeting rooms: five rooms measuring 58 m² and six measuring 20 m². Located between floors P1 and P2, this level has naturally lit spaces between the rooms, which are perfect for more intimate meetings or as organisation offices during events.

Level P2 houses the impressive Banquet Hall, a 1,665 m² room with capacity for 1,200 people and sea views from its 447 m² terrace. Its column-free design and native wood ceiling make it perfect for large celebrations. Foyer B connects to two additional rooms totalling 1,284 m², all featuring natural light, sea views and access to the terrace.
