Sometimes the form is as important as the backdrop. With its designer architecture, the Forum building has become one of the landmarks of modern Barcelona.
Designed by prestigious Swiss architects Herzog and DeMeuron, this majestic blue triangle is 25 m high, 180 m long and has a surface area of 25,000 m2. It houses the Forum Auditorium with a total of 3,140 seats, a 740 m2 stage and is directly connected to the Convention Centre by an underground corridor.
The Forum Auditorium, besides staging plenary sessions for conventions, congresses, management boards of large corporations and members’ meetings of leading sports clubs, has also established itself as the new venue of choice for exceptional artistic events. These include cinema premieres such as ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’, concerts by Diana Krall, Tom Waits, Josep Carreras, Sara Baras, the opera Carmina Burana as well as the Russian National Ballet’s Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
